About Retaaza

Retaaza is a woman-owned B Corp and social enterprise that strives to make local food more accessible and affordable, directly supports our communities’ farmers, reconnects consumers to their food, and feeds families struggling with food insecurity. We are building robust relationships with local farmers, community organizations, local businesses, and individuals to create a nimble, streamlined approach that is making a measurable impact economically, socially, and environmentally across our communities.

Our newest initiative - the MARTA Farm Fresh Markets - is a collaborative effort with MARTA to bring pop-up markets to transit stations across Atlanta, increasing food access in historically underserved communities.

Job Description

We are looking for team members to staff and operate our MARTA Farm Fresh Markets throughout the city at MARTA stations. We work with local farmers to create a pipeline of fresh, healthy food straight from the farm and into the hands of food-insecure individuals and families. Our warehouse is on the westside of Atlanta, and we operate numerous markets around the metro area, in addition to this new partnership. Market days occur during the week with most shifts being around six hours. Shifts follow a standard weekly schedule. Some weekend markets may occur on occasion but are the exception and not the rule. A typical market day would involve working as a team to stock the van with inventory, drive to the market site, set up the market on site, check out shoppers on our point of sale (POS) system, interact with shoppers, close down the market by driving inventory back to the warehouse, closing out the register and inventory, etc.

Weekly Schedule

The current schedule for MARTA Markets is that they will operate Tuesday - Friday for 3 hours at pre-determined MARTA stations. Market Operators will work in teams at each station on a recurring schedule. Shifts, including set-up and breakdown from the warehouse, average 5-6 hours per market day in the afternoon and evening. Each team will work 3-4 market shifts a week, averaging between 15-20 hours/week.
