Mikayla Darville

Mikayla is a graduate of Emory University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Economics, and Environmental Science, along with an Associate of Arts from Oxford College of Emory. This fall, she'll continue her studies at Georgia Tech, pursuing a degree in Human Computer Interaction.

Her background spans software development, machine learning, and data analysis, with experience applying simulation modeling to optimize energy use for reverse osmosis technologies at Harmony Desalting, and building her first app, ClosetMax, alongside a team of peers. At Emory, she was deeply involved in community-building and inclusive tech education, serving as Co-President of Girls Who Code College Loop, a Girls Who Code Ambassador, and a leader across the Black Student Union, STEMinists, and First-Year Council.

As a Diversity Diplomat and Peer mentor, Mikayla fostered spaces of belonging on campus, driven by a belief that inclusive communities and strong networks are foundational to innovation and personal growth. She brings with her a passion for using data, technology, and design thinking to improve processes, uplift underserved communities, and create tools that inspire and empower.

Mikayla is passionate about community building and creating things that make people's daily lives a little easier. Friendly, resourceful, and great with numbers, she brings a creative and hardworking spirit to everything she does and is eager to learn along the way to turn ideas into meaningful projects. Outside of work, Mikayla enjoys movies, traveling, running, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and any creative outlet she can find.
