Our DeKalb County Mobile Market pilot ended on Monday of this week, and we couldn’t be more proud of its impact!
Launched on November 10, 2025 at a critical time, just weeks after SNAP disruptions highlighted the urgent need for accessible food, the DeKalb County Mobile Market was designed to deliver fresh, local, and affordable produce and pantry staples directly to residents across DeKalb County. The Mobile Market operated at six market locations every Monday and Friday.
Thanks to strong district partnerships and promotion by DeKalb Commissioners’ staff, word of the Mobile Market spread quickly. The high demand and turnout at every location demonstrated a clear community need for healthy, convenient options, particularly in areas with limited grocery access.

Operating every Monday and Friday at six locations spanning most DeKalb districts, the Mobile Market reached residents where they live and work, providing both convenience and choice. To ensure food access during the pilot, DeKalb County also sponsored weekly $10 shopping credits for all customers. This was a great support during SNAP freezes in November.

Some of the most-loved items included: collard greens, cabbage, and sweet potatoes!
The program focused on more than just providing groceries. The pilot delivered a dignified, friendly shopping experience centered on choice, community, and locally grown seasonal options.

The pilot program with DeKalb has demonstrated the potential for mobile markets to expand food access, support local farmers, and strengthen community connections. Residents across DeKalb County embraced the initiative and the results provide a roadmap for future programming that prioritizes choice, dignity, and healthy eating.
