Turkey Giveaway Week at Retaaza | Thanksgiving 2025

This past week, hundreds of neighbors across Atlanta picked up free turkeys ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday at multiple MARTA Stations and at our City of Refuge and Thomasville Heights Farm Fresh Markets!

Huge shoutout to our amazing Retaaza Team for working extra hard to make these distributions possible. It was truly all hands on deck to get all 875 turkeys out the door in just one week but the palpable joy from our recipients made all the early mornings and late nights worth it.

If you need any proof of the excitement these giveaways created, just look to Ms. Mary: after getting her turkey at Thomasville Heights Farm Fresh Market, she was so delighted that she drove around the neighborhood calling out from her car and waving people over to let them know about the distribution. Within 20 minutes, she was back at the Market leading a caravan of neighbors ready to receive their own Thanksgiving goodness.

We couldn’t do this without our partners Wholesome Wave Georgia and MARTA for their role in making these Thanksgiving Giveaways possible. The gratitude is mutual and we heard great praise from our partners throughout the week.
