Caramelized. Vidalia. Onions.

You know you want some!

Memorial Day is around the corner and this Caramelized Vidalia Onion BBQ Dip stars our favorite, in-season, root veg: the Vidalia Onion.

Featured by Georgia Grown, this recipe is a surefire hit for you and your crew this holiday weekend!

Here’s what you need:

  • 4 cups diced Vidalia onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 8-ounce cream cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (whatever type you like)

How to make it:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat a 10-inch *cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and the butter to the pan. Once the butter has melted, add diced onions to the skillet. Cook onions for 5 minutes, then add minced garlic, salt & pepper. Stir well. Allow the onions to cook until they turn golden brown, stirring often. This should take about 20 minutes. Add cream cheese, mayonnaise, and BBQ sauce; mix well. Cook until the cream cheese is melted. Top the mixture with the shredded cheese and bake until melted. Serve with crackers or French bread. Serves 12 – 16.
  • *If you don’t have a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, use a regular skillet and transfer the mixture to a casserole dish before topping with cheese and baking.

Enjoy!

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
