On April 4th, known locally as 404 Day, we were honored to receive a proclamation from the Georgia General Assembly recognizing the powerful collaboration between the Metro Atlanta Coalition for Healthy Neighborhoods (MACHN), Wholesome Wave Georgia, and Retaaza. Together, we’ve been working hand-in-hand to address longstanding disparities in healthcare access, food security, and overall well-being across metro Atlanta.

Field to Fork Pilot: Early Wins

Driven by the belief that every crop grown deserves a chance to nourish a neighbor not feed into the issue of food waste, Retaaza and Second Helpings Atlanta have embarked on a pilot program to make that belief an everyday reality.‍ Our Field to Fork Program rescues fresh, Georgia-grown produce and delivers it to Metro Atlanta nonprofit agencies feeding our communities. By using Retaaza's model of compensating Georgia’s farmers at farmer-first prices, it covers the cost of growing and harvesting their produce, provides an additional revenue stream for farmers, and also delivers fresh produce to families in need.

Retaaza Secures Support through ReFed’s 2025 Catalytic Grant Fund to Cut On-Farm Food Waste & Loss

We’re thrilled and honored to share that Retaaza is a grantee of ReFed’s 2025 Catalytic Grant Fund. ‍First of its kind, the Catalytic Grant Fund backs bold solutions to stop food waste. This year, the fund focused specifically on on-farm food waste and loss. Out of over 100 applicants from across the country, Retaaza was one of only five organizations selected for funding - and we could not be more proud!‍


