Meet Our Farm Partner: Corbett Brothers Farms

In honor of the upcoming National Farmer Day, we’re excited to highlight Corbett Brothers Farms as one of our farm partners. Located in Lake Park, Georgia, just minutes from the GA–FL border and south of Valdosta, the Corbett Brothers are more than just a supplier of bell peppers, eggplants, and satsuma citrus. They’re a family-owned farm, a leader in Georgia-Grown citrus, and a shining example of how farming continues to grow and evolve in Georgia.

Meet Our Farm Partner: Mercier Orchards

Each fall, Retaaza is honored to work with Mercier Orchards – a fourth-generation, family- and veteran-owned orchard in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Mercier Orchards began in 1943, when Bill and Adele Mercier purchased a 27-acre orchard in Blue Ridge, Georgia. What started as a small roadside apple stand has grown over 80 years and four generations into North Georgia’s most popular agritourism destination.

Field to Fork: Summer 2025 Recap

That’s the heart of Field to Fork, our food rescue and food access partnership with Second Helpings Atlanta. Through Field to Fork, we identify produce at risk of going to waste, purchase it from Georgia farmers at fair prices, and get it into the hands of families who need fresh food the most.

Mission Milestone: 1 Million Pounds Rescued

We’re proud to share that we’ve officially rescued 1 MILLION POUNDS of locally-grown produce from becoming food waste! Every pound rescued is a pound that Retaaza paid a local farmer a fair price for — always at our farmer-first prices — and saved from becoming food waste. No donations of produce expected from our growers — ever. Just actual cash in their pockets for their hard work.

A Home Run for Community and Fresh Food: Retaaza at MLB’s All-Star Weekend

This past weekend, Retaaza had the joy of participating in the pre-festivities for Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game, hosted right here in Atlanta! To celebrate the big game and the spirit of community, we popped up a Retaaza farm stand at Food Well Alliance’s community farm in Leila Valley, a South Atlanta neighborhood. Volunteers and guests enjoyed the best of Georgia’s summer harvest.

Meet Our Farm Partner: Diamond Hill Farm

At Retaaza, we celebrate Georgia farmers whose hard work and harvests bring local produce to our tables. Today, we’re happy to highlight Diamond Hill Farm, nestled in Athens, Georgia. ‍Diamond Hill Farm began in 2012, when Carter Dodd, a former music venue manager, decided to follow his passion for growing food. What started as a backyard hobby soon blossomed into a family-wide operation, with Carter and his wife Shelley building a farm rooted in love and hard work.

Field to Fork Pilot: Early Wins

Driven by the belief that every crop grown deserves a chance to nourish a neighbor not feed into the issue of food waste, Retaaza and Second Helpings Atlanta have embarked on a pilot program to make that belief an everyday reality.‍ Our Field to Fork Program rescues fresh, Georgia-grown produce and delivers it to Metro Atlanta nonprofit agencies feeding our communities. By using Retaaza's model of compensating Georgia’s farmers at farmer-first prices, it covers the cost of growing and harvesting their produce, provides an additional revenue stream for farmers, and also delivers fresh produce to families in need.

Second Helpings Atlanta and Retaaza Partner to Combat Food Insecurity for for Nearly 600,000 People in Metro Atlanta with Fresh, Locally Sourced Produce from Georgia Farmers

Second Helpings Atlanta, Georgia’s leading food logistics non-profit, has partnered with Retaaza, a social enterprise pioneering on-farm food rescue and community food access through their innovative supply chain, in a groundbreaking Food Rescue Partnership to transform fresh food access across metro Atlanta. By compensating Georgia’s farmers at a fair price that helps cover the costs of growing and harvesting their produce, this initiative provides a revenue stream for farmers, while also delivering fresh produce to families in need.

How You Can Support Georgia Farmers After Hurricane Helene

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Georgia’s farmers are facing significant challenges as they work to recover from damaged crops and infrastructure. According to preliminary estimates shared by Governor Brian Kemp and Nick Place, Dean and Director of UGA's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the total economic impact of the hurricane is expected to exceed $6 billion, including direct losses to crops of $1.8 billion.
